These are 3 pieces I did by incorporating Precious Moments art into them. Frankly I just wanted a good excuse to use my new markers. :) Obviously, the character art is copyright to Precious Moments. It was fun.

Zentangle Rejoice II
This is another Christian inspired piece I did. It includes the abstract woman in Christian rejoice, the cross, and the holy trinity.
Zentangle --Friends
I love embedding abstract silhouettes into my zentangles. I'm also infatuated with using ribbons and scrolls to define my borders.
Zentangle the Prayer
My Aunt Judy commissioned me to make this for one of her friends.
She also asked me to make this one for another of her friends. I loved creating this one because her friend has a special spiritual relationship with cardinals and I wanted to somehow capture that. Somehow those tiny cardinals speak to the spirituality of it to me.

Zentangle Claddaugh
When my daughter, Meghann, was a baby, I had a pen pal in Ireland who sent me a claddagh ring and introduced me to the meaning behind it. That particular ring fell off my finger and down a heat vent about 20 years ago but I immediately bought another one and have had it on my finger ever since. Obviously this piece was inspired by my love of the claddagh.
My Aunt Judy and my daughter, Meghann bought me some very very nice Copic markers for my birthday. Typically I abhor colored zentangles..but recently I have begun to experiment with adding a single pop of color and I must say, I kinda like it.
The claddagh represents friendship (the hands), love (the heart), and loyalty (the crown).

Zentangle garden pieces
My zentangles have been evolving during this long long long long long winter. I am inspired by the ones that include iconic symbols or silhouettes and recently have begun to experiment with more a free-style in terms of the borders.
I don't know why but since I was a very young woman I've always been infatuated with garden gates. I love gardening and my dream has always been to have a garden gate like the one in my head. This piece was inspired by that dream:

The year of the Zentangle
I have been dabbling with zentangles for a couple of years now and although I love the process and I love the finished project, it has always bothered me that I didn't know what to do with them when they were finished. In early January, I got a great idea that has not only given me a reason to zentangle but has inspired my tangles into new heights! I come from a very large family, so I went through the process of gathering alllll of their birthdays with a plan that I would create a zentangle piece to send to everyone on their birthday! Of course, these zentangles would have to be customized to the person... for example, my niece is pregnant with her 2nd child so it only seemed natural to create a zentangle that included motherhood for her, my cousin loves to sing so a musical tangle was in order for her...and so on.
I have never been the 4x4 tile type of zentangler. I like bigger projects. My tangles have always been 8x11 size. With that in mind, I decided to create zentangles for my friends/family that they could ultimately frame. However, I would need big envelopes to mail these tangles in. Found some 9x12 envelopes in white.....hmmmm white- a blank canvas. Ultimately I was inspired to design the piece AND the envelope. I wanted to make these envelopes something special..that would be fun to show up in your mail box using my gel pens and some zentangle like techniques. This blog is all about showing the tangles I have created..:) Hope you enjoy!

Zentangle- Shine On
This is one of my very favorites. I love everything about it!I made this for my cousin's daughter, Jandi.
Zentangle - The Mother
Zentangle The tree...
Zentangle Follow your dreams
This one seemed so much better in my head. I wanted the ribbons to be a roadway that would play into the message of the piece, but somehow those little dashed lines in the road totally took away the *pop* of the negative space.
Zentangle - Love tangle
Zentangle - Rejoice
